Tamil New Year known as 'Sithirai Thirunaal', marks the beginning of a new year in the Tamil calendar. It is time for new beginnings, reflection and hope. This Tamil New Year, we were able to support 12 individuals affected by the long-term impacts of the war by providing a week's worth of essential food supplies: bringing comfort and support during a meaningful time of year.

Our current project involves building a toilet for a family who have been without one for many years. Having had to rely on neighbours for such a basic necessity, the mother of two daughters has now reached out to NYSDA UK for support. Through this project, we aim to provide a safe, private, and essential facility that will significantly improve their daily lives and restore dignity to the family.

​

We would like to thank Mr Gajatheepan Vijayanathan who has generously donated a £1000 for this cause.
